The vision system 4D MMS of the Berlin-based startup PTX tech detects objects and environments. It enables machines, robots and vehicles “to see and to recognize”.
Machines do not have to be surrounded by fences or light curtains any more. The vision system 4D MMS supervises the whole working area. The machine only stops when an employee gets too close to the area of danger. Furthermore, the system offers a secure positioning. The system is based on 3D laser scanning and consists of an emitter and detector unit. They recognize objects in the field of view with 120 Hz and avoid collisions.
4D MMS is not only for the usage in industry automation but also for industries like logistics (i.e. AGVs, cranes) and automotive. Main applications are collision avoidance and safe detection of the environment of vehicles. For advanced assistant systems and especially for autonomous driving, a safe detection of the environment is a critical factor for cars.
